PRINTABLE SCIENCE RECORD

Turn an activity into an investigation

Ask one testable question, change one factor at a time, and record what actually happened—even when the result differs from the prediction.

Safety first: follow adult guidance and the safety note for the selected investigation.

A simple academic routine

Ask: begin with a question the child can investigate. Predict: record an idea without correcting it. Test: change one factor while keeping others steady. Observe: draw, describe, count, time, or measure. Explain: connect the conclusion to evidence.

These activities support inquiry and science practices but are not a complete curriculum. Adult judgment, product labels, allergies, local conditions, and school safety rules always take priority.

Science planner questions

Are these experiments safe for children to do alone?

No activity is automatically safe for every child or setting. Use the supervision filter, read the individual safety note, inspect materials, and provide more help whenever needed.

Why does the plan show only three experiments?

A short plan reduces decision overload and makes preparation easier. Select “Show different matches” to rotate through other suitable activities.

Can I save the observation sheet as a PDF?

Yes. Select Print observation sheet and choose the PDF destination in your browser’s print dialog.

Does the tool store a child’s information?

No. Filters and generated suggestions stay in the browser, and the printable sheet is blank until you use it offline.
